About Nutritional TherapyIn my opinion, too little emphasis in health care is placed on the cost-effectiveness of nutritional therapy and disease prevention in general. A Registered Nutritional Consultant (RNCP) can guide you toward a healthier lifestyle. RNCP's are professionals trained in nutrition and complementary therapies who take a holistic approach to restoring and maintaining health. We educate and coach individuals and groups about the benefits of sound nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to encourage the body to achieve optimal health. We also offer herbal detox products, nutritional supplements, and vitamins at wholesale prices. RNCP's have received significant post-secondary training in the following subjects: Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Allergies, Biology, Fundamentals of Nutrition, Preventative Nutrition, Environmental pollution, Nutritional Pathology, Alternative Comparative Diets, Digestion and Elimination, Cleansing and Detoxification, Nutritional Symptomology, Life Cycle (pediatrics & geriatrics), Clinical Nutrition, Sports Nutrition. RNCP's are certified by the Nutritional Consultants Organization of Canada. The N.C.O.C. was established in 1983 and is a non-profit independent body with no ties to any particular educational facility or products. It is the only organization of its kind in this field. Since every person is biochemically unique, nutritional imbalances are assessed on an individual basis. The assessment is done through oral "case-taking" and using specialized questionnaires designed to pin-point or highlight imbalances and weaknesses. Through the many hats we wear; be it teacher, coach, guide, therapist, or menu-planner, it is gratifying how much one can enhance the quality of another person's life. The right kind of nutrition advice can guide a client back to health or simply open their eyes to their ability to help themselves towards realistic health and wellness goals, sometimes restoring hope where none was left.
